What is a QR code?
A QR (Quick Response) code is a square barcode that stores text — usually a URL — as a scannable pattern. Pointing a phone camera at it opens the encoded link instantly, without anyone having to type the address by hand.
Does this QR code ever expire?
No. Your destination URL is encoded directly into the pattern itself, with no redirect service in between. It will keep working for as long as the destination page exists — there's no subscription or account that can cause it to stop working.
Does this tool track scans or store the codes I create?
No. Like every tool on this site, the QR code is generated entirely in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to a server, and there's no scan-tracking of any kind — that also means we have no way to show you analytics, since we never see the code at all.
What error correction level should I use?
Medium (M) is a good default for most links. Choose High (H) if the code will be printed small, displayed on a curved or textured surface, or might get slightly damaged or obscured — it adds redundancy so the code still scans correctly, at the cost of a denser pattern.
Can I put a phone number or email address in a QR code instead of a URL?
Yes — paste a tel: or mailto: link into the field instead of a web address, and scanning the code will prompt a call or a pre-filled email the same way those links work on a webpage.
